TANZANIA - Fact file

MAP  II  PARKS  II  ITINERARIES

The word Tanzania has been derived from the amalgamation of Tanganyika & Zanzibar.

Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa boasting of arguably the world's best park, Serengeti, which is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the annual wildebeest migration. Other well known parks are Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Nyerere, Selous, Ruaha, Katavi, Gombe Stream, Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Malawi, and the Moyowasi wetlands.

Tanzania's other major icon is Kilimanjaro, the Roof of Africa at 5985m. It is 2/3rd the height of Everest. Kili is a bucket list item for trekkers and even serious climbers.

At the end of a hectic safari fly to exotic Zanzibar and unwind on its sandy beaches.

Apart from wildlife safaris and trekking, we offer hot air balloon, bird watching, chimpanzee tracking, fishing, snorkeling, boating, sailing, kayaking, diving and horse riding. For those keen on paleontology we organise a visit to the Olduvai Gorge, where the remains of our earliest ancestors have been preserved in a museum.

An interaction with the Masai community could well be one of the highlights of your safari.
