ZIMBABWE - Fact file
MAP II PARKS II ITINERARIES
"Zimbabwe" derives from the Shona word for houses made of stones, dzimba dza mabwe.
Zimbabwe is slowly coming back into the wildlife mainstream. It has a lot more to offer than just Victoria Falls, which it shares with Zambia, and Hwange National Park, one of the largest and best parks in southern Africa. If you have a secret desire to be on a walking safari, Mana Pools is your destination.
Apart from Victoria Falls, Mana Pools and Hwange, other popular parks are Lake Kariba, Matusadona, Chizarira, Matobo and Gonarezhou.
The ruins of Great Zimbabwe - the largest and best preserved ancient stone walled city in sub Saharan Africa - are a must see, if you have time on your itinerary.
Any of the following activities can be booked through us on a visit to Victoria Falls e.g., white water rafting, guided tour of the Falls, guided tour of the Falls under moonlight / full moon, bungee, river cruise, fishing, dinner aboard an iconic train above the Falls, helicopter ride, microlight aircraft, bridgewalk, abseiling, high wiring, gorge swinging, canoeing, kayaking, riverboarding, jet boating, walking with lions and elephant riding!
